Consolidation of institutional indicators using data warehouse
Abstract
Higher education institutions in Colombia must report their performance indicators to different state surveillance and control entities; This obligation means that universities have to store and manage the information they produce and what must be reported. Generally, the administrative and academic processes are accompanied by an information system that is aligned with the needs of the end users and allows to have updated and available data, to be consulted at any time and to answer questions about a specific process. This class of systems makes the strategic analysis of information difficult for decision-making, as it lacks data consolidation with other sources that allow evaluating organizational results from different points of view. This research shows the application of business intelligence in the construction of a data warehouse that integrates the institutional information that is reported and supports the decision-making of the Francisco de Paula Santander Ocaña University.
