Cartography of Chilean political documentary film: between political discourse and audiovisual rhetoric
Abstract
This paper presents a tour for the principal milestones of the history of the documentary political cinema in Chile, from its beginnings as politically active cinema up to the most emblematic producers who narrate the effects of the post military dictatorship. It is a cartography that articulates from the concept of political discourse associated with an audiovisual rhetoric, and where historical landmarks such as the government of Salvador Allende, the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet and the return to the democracy in 1990 have been considered, instances that Marked the development of this cinematographic genre.
