Bis[4-(2-benzoyl-1-oxidoethenyl)-3-hydroxyphenyl benzoato]diethanolcobalt(II)

Abstract

In the title complex, [Co(C22H15O5)2(C2H5OH)2], the CoII atom (site symmetry overline{1}) is coordinated by two O,O′-bidentate 4-(2-benzoyl-1-oxidoethenyl)-3-hydroxyphenyl benzoate anions and two ethanol O atoms, resulting in a slightly distorted CoO6 octahedral coordination. An intramolecular O—H...O hydrogen bond in the ligand generates an S(6) ring. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings joined to the acetylacetonate unit is 6.4 (2)°. The ethanol molecule is disordered over two orientations in a 0.65 (3):0.35 (3) ratio. In the crystal, molecules are linked by O—H...O bonds.
