Peroneal mycotic pseudoaneurysm: The lactobacillus strikes back

Abstract

Peroneal artery pseudoaneurysms are considered a rare clinical entity and there is a paucity of evidence to guide our management decisions. We describe a mycotic peroneal artery pseudoaneurysm secondary to Lactobacillus rhamnosus endocarditis that was managed endovascularly with embolisation. To our knowledge, this is the first report on Lactobacillus rhamnosus causing a peripheral mycotic pseudoaneurysm.
