Abstract: This study investigates the disconnection between language and culture in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms among first-year students at the English Department of Batna 2 University. The research examines how this cultural gap impacts students' language proficiency and comprehension, particularly when cultural knowledge is inadequately integrated into language instruction. The study employed a mixed-methods approach. 115 students completed the open-ended questionnaires, and 20 ones participated in focus group discussions. The findings confirm significant challenges encountered by students, underscoring the necessity of integrating cultural content into EFL curricula. Based on these results, several targeted recommendations are proposed, including the establishment of international academic collaborations, the expansion of language and culture courses, and the creation of language culture clubs within EFL departments. These initiatives aim to enhance students' exposure to and understanding of the cultural dimensions of the English language. The study also highlights the need for developing dynamic glossaries of cultural terms and encourages further comparative research to assess cultural difficulties across different linguistic contexts.
