The present article addresses the analysis of Public-Private Partnerships as a mechanism for establishing mega-tourism projects in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This region has experienced an expansion of this activity since the 1990s, which has had diverse social, economic, and environmental effects, such as water scarcity and the privatization of public spaces. In this context, Public-Private Partnerships are presented under a discourse of development and promotion of well-being, which is questioned through the analysis of records and conducting interviews.
