« J’ai parlé à Dieu » : violences conjugales et impasses du système judiciaire brésilien
Abstract
Ethnographies in several Brazilian regions have indicated the limits and possibilities of judicialization in reducing violence against women. This article approaches the topic from a broader perspective. Taking as empirical reference studies on the judicial treatment of domestic violence, we seek to understand the effects of the judicialization of conflicts in the constitution of a modern subjectivity marked by the internalization of equality as a value and the civic world as a space for equal treatment.
