Rational choice of the combined oral contraceptive for the prevention of unplanned pregnancy in women of early reproductive age. The advantage of a combination of hormones and folates Uvarova E.V. The problem of protecting the general and reproductive health of young people is very important, especially in modern conditions. The foundation of the health of a woman of childbearing age is laid from the first days of her life. The article presents the general picture of women’s reproductive health and the factors affecting it. The role of vitamins and minerals in the regulation of the menstrual cycle is highlighted. The effectiveness of the use of folic acid preparations, in particular Metafolin®, is demonstrated at the stage of pregravid preparation and during pregnancy in order to prevent congenital malformations and complications of gestation. The article shows that the use of combined oral contraceptives brings a variety of therapeutic actions to the woman’s body and is an effective measure for the prevention of many chronic diseases and conditions. The use of drospirenone-containing microdosed hormonal contraceptives with folates in their composition is currently topical. Metafolin® in the microdosage hormone contraceptive Yas® plus to some extent compensates for the folate concentration necessary to prevent neural tube defects in the fetus in the 27-30 days of pregnancy, which is confirmed by numerous clinical studies.
