Long-range cooperative resonances in rare-earth ion arrays inside photonic resonators

Abstract

Engineering the arrangement of atomic arrays enables their cooperative interaction with optical photons even when individual atom separations are far beyond the light’s wavelength. Here, the authors report long-range cooperative resonances in an array of rare-earth ions implanted into a lithium niobate micro-ring resonator.
