This paper discusses the participation of blacks on oil platforms in the Campos Basin, proposing a debate on the dynamics of the insertion of blacks in this market. From this perspective, the study reflects on racism and diversity in the world of oil in this region and their implications. When it comes to racial issues in this context, we can see that the differences are not the workers’ intellectual capacity but in working opportunities. However, nothing prevents blacks and whites from working together with respect to develop their skills in a more just and diverse society. Public and private institutions face the challenge to minimize racial discrimination while seeking to embrace racial diversity through affirmative actions in the form of quotas. As conclusion, the problem detected in his study is related to social classes and not race.
