This paper reports on the results of a simulation study carried out to determine the steady state stability characteristics of superconducting generators. The influence of forcing functions via the excitation system and prime mover have been included in the analysis. The results show that using excitation control augmented with Power System Stabilizers (PSS) provides positive damping and improves the steady state stability of superconducting generators.
