This text takes up the notion of place in order to refine its theorization in the particular context of the research-intervention approach (RI). To do so, it explains the foundations and the implemen-tation methods of IR and then proposes a theorization of the notion of place, through a work of thematic structuring of its lexical field, which makes it possible to bring to light three constituent dimensions of this notion. Following the presentation of the two protagonists, the dialogue between RI and place comes into play and its analysis leads to the synthesis of a "place for RI". This theorization is extended with the help of the concepts of "decoincidence" and "real life" (borrowed from François Jullien), which allows us, in the end, to propose a definition of the "real place" in RI.
