Mass splitting of heavy-baryons from QCD sum rules
Abstract
We extract the heavy-baryons mass-splittings due to S U (3) breaking using double ratios of QCD sum rules. We evaluate the masses of the strange-heavy baryons ΞQ , Ξ*Q , ΩQ and Ω*Q using as input the masses of the associated non-strange ΛQ , ΣQ and Σ*Q baryons. We notice that the leading term controlling the mass-splittings is the ratio $(ar{s}s)/(bar{q}q)$ of the quark condensate and not the running mass ms . We also predict the hyperfine splittings Ω*Q − ΩQ and Ξ*Q − ΞQ .
