"All together to protect you" – ATLAS Network, European Special Intervention Units

Objectives The ATLAS network is an association of the police tactical units of the Member States of the European Union established following the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 upon the initiative of the Police Chiefs Task Force. This article presents the history of the creation, ideas and functions of the ATLAS Network. He presents the benefits of participating in ATLAS Network. Material and methods Materials: thematic publications, legal acts, Internet information. The following research methods were used in the research: analysis and logical construction. Results The ATLAS Network is an element connecting counter-terrorist units from Europe. The ATLAS Network is the EU's response to the growing threat of terrorism. Conclusions The ATLAS Network allows counter-terrorism units from Europe to exchange experiences and benefit from each other's achievements. An important advantage of cooperation in the ATLAS Network, is the possibility to request direct assistance to another Member State(s) when a terrorist attack occurs.
