Providing human need for respect, merit and power leads to his self-esteem, self-realization and success and inflict a blow to this need also causes feelings of weakness and humiliation. The purpose of this research is to examine this need and its fundamentality from the perspective of the Quran. For this purpose, the keywords related to respect were entered into MaxQDA's software with the data base method and encoded with content analysis in the form of different categories. In order to find the meaning of the words in this research, structural semantic field and cognitive semantics method were used and for the intertextual cases the subject interpretation method was used. The analysis of the keywords and intertextual cases has shown the abundance of 500 codes related to the topic of respect in the Quran and has extracted several levels of ways to grow or hitting the respect, as well as the causes of the formation or reciprocity of respect. As a result, this rate of frequency indicates the fundamental need to respect in the Quranic view. Investigating the keywords of respect and their affiliations shows that two subspecies of “power” against “weakness” and “worthiness” against “humiliation” in need of respect
