Sclerotherapy is a popular, simple, safe, and effective alternative to ablation of refluxing veins in patients with chronic venous insufficiency due to chronic venous disease. Over the last two decades, we have used this method and its safer variant of ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, solely or adjunctly, to ablate all types of superficial refluxing veins. In the course of therapy, we observed some complications, managed them, and discuss them in this review, along with some which have been reported in the literature. Our effort is to increase the use of this safe and straightforward method to ablate superficial refluxing. [Turk J Vasc Surg 2021; 30(3.000): 254-62]
