THE CARNIVALIZATION AND THE LAUGHTER BY MIKHAIL BAKHTIN
Abstract
Often taken in questionable way, usually within the meaning of simple hierarchical inversion, the theory engenders carnivalization fundamental categories for its composition. In this paper we will focus on the categories laughter and mask and will bring a brief history of the theory of Mikhail Bakhtin. For the Russian researcher, the carnival was a series of manifestations of popular culture and medieval and Renaissance a rule, organized and coherent understanding of that world when transported to literary works called carnivalization literature. The Categories laughter and mask are reinterpreted from the reading of the book A Cultura Popular na Idade Mdia e no Renascimento: o contexto de Franois Rabelais.
