Die Medizinische Hauptbibliothek an der Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt am Main / The Medical Library at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main
Abstract
The history of the Medical Library begins in 1908, six years before the Frankfurt University was founded. Formerly it was a municipal establishment until 2005 it became a faculty library of the University Library and now belongs to the Frankfurt Goethe University. The main task of the library is to provide doctors and medical students of the University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine with medical literature. For historical reasons the citizens of Frankfurt and Hesse are also permitted to use the library’s facilities but have restricted access.
