Bacillus velezensis strain ZY1 isolated from pepper leaves recently showed a strong biocontrol effect on bacterial fruit blotch. Here, we report the complete genome sequence data with annotation for Bacillus velezensis strain ZY1, which was obtained by Nanopore and Illumina sequencing technology. No gaps and plasmids were included in the sequencing results. The final assembled genome of ZY1 was 4,032,733 bp, with an average GC content of 46.42%, and it contained 3,842 prediction protein-coding genes, 86 tRNA, 27 rRNA, and 5 ncRNA. Fourteen secondary metabolite biosynthetic gene clusters were identified in the genome, which might contribute to the biocontrol function of the strain. This genome sequence provides a basis for further understanding the biocontrol mechanism of this Bacillus velezensis strain. [Figure: see text] Copyright © 2023 The Author(s).
