Pediatric Palliative Care
Abstract
Due to the increase in the number of children and families with life-threatening or limiting disease, palliative care has been accepted as a special area in medicine. Pediatric palliative care is a top-level care system that focuses on improving the quality of life for the child and family, taking care of physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. The purpose of this review is to define the properties of pediatric palliative care with differences from adults and to discuss palliative care models including the role of medical professionals.
