Didacticism and educational value of content of the Nomocanon of Saint Sava

Abstract

In the past centuries a lot has been written about Saint Sava. Interesting stories about different periods of his life are remembered and passed on. Artists celebrate him, while masons build churches with his name. A lot has been said about his origins, childhood, going to the monastery, his life as a monk, journeys, architectural endeavors, devotion towards his family as well as his attitude to the sick and the poor, his immense importance for our people and the books he wrote. Fortunately, his works can be found and read in modern Serbian language. One of these works is the Nomocanon of Saint Sava. This paper has been dedicated to this significant work. The emphasis is on the contents that have education in common.
