The paper presents an algorithm for the empirical selection of antibiotics in the treatment of acute respiratory infections in children, depending on the characteristics of their modern etiological structure and resistance to antibiotics. It is shown that amoxicillin remains the first-line drug in the pediatric outpatient practice for the treatment of acute upper respiratory tract infections, bacterial bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia caused by the major pathogens (pneumococcus, streptococcus, Haemophilus influenzae). When choosing a drug, dispersible form of amoxicillin — Flemoxin Solutab® (amoxicillin trihydrate) should be preferred, it has high bioavailability of the active substance, comparable to injection (93 %), providing a high efficiency of therapy in more than 90 % of cases, which guarantees patient’s recovery.
