PUBLIC HEALTH MANAGEMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF SANITARIAN PRACTICES
Abstract
Public health management is an activity that includes special knowledge in management of infrastructure, work processes and outcomes in public health. Although the management of public health has advanced in recent years, many problems can still be identified in this area of knowledge, particularly in the management of public health in the Unified Health System (SUS). Inadequate practices in administration of resources (human, physical and financial) and services are added to the lack of specific training for health workers. Using a review of literature on management in its various forms, this paper aimed to discuss the evolution of management in some periods of History. As a result provides information on alternative management practices, concluding that some of these practices can be incorporated into public health. Although this sector does not crave financial profits, it aims to make better use of resources, a better resolution in services and primarily the satisfaction of the users.
