Purpose: The purpose of the present IS about main etiologic factor responsible for melanocytic pigmentation of the oral mucosa in the white population is cigarette smoking. The gums of smokers are more susceptible to infection because smoking and tobacco use causes a lack of oxygen in the bloodstream, so reducing the flow of blood and nutrients to the gum tissues. This weakens the body's defense mechanisms, making the gums more susceptible to infection. Material and methods: Techniques for depigmentation.(1) Depigmentation with Scalpel technique.(2) Cryosurgical procedure.(3) Electrosurgery procedure.(4) Laser depigmentation.(5) Chemical agents (chemexfoliation). Conclusion: Staying on top of regular dentist visits, so smokers can also benefit from professional cleanings While quitting smoking is the most effective way to ensure better oral health Smokers should try to avoid foods that can cause further staining, compounding on the damages already done by the use of tobacco like soda and coffee. Etc Smokers should also perform oral health self-checkups on a regular basis.
