Opinión pública. El tránsito hacia el oeste : Los Estados Unidos. Una introducción (1787-1800)
Abstract
This essay analyses the origins of the public opinion concept between 1787 and 1800 in the United States. Is summarizes several points: First, it examines the framework of privileges and political patronage in which the party press flourished; and second, it describes the consequences of the First Amendment and the reaction against the Alien and Sedition Acts. The contribution of Madison to the concept of public opinion appears within the partisan war between federalist and republicans as a political framework.
