This paper presentes results of a state-of-knowledge research, which has aimed to conduct a survey of what has been researched about continuing education of teachers of final years of elementary school about new technologies, digital games and teaching of math using gamification strategies; aiming to highlight the development of research regarding objectives, methodologies and results of recent academic productions on the guiding question. For that, an analysis was made in abstracts of dissertations and theses having as source of research publications of Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and scientific communications published in annals of National Meeting of Teaching of Mathematics (ENEM) in the period from 2013 to 2018. The results have pointed to significant contributions from the training courses on new technologies and mathematics teaching in development of teaching pedagogical practice, besides the need for studies on teacher education regarding the use of digital games and gamification strategies in mathematics teaching, primarily through mobile devices.
