High-impact practices (HIPs) were integrated into teaching and learning activities. These practices are designed to help students overcome the rapid challenges of employment and workforce needs. In this study, we focused on implementing HIPs in the Arabic language, a core competency. Northern Border University (NBU) has been committed to improving the quality of education through the implementation of high-impact practices. The research aimed to examine the translation of HIPs into Arabic, with a specific focus on enhancing communication skills through collaborative projects and assignments. To explore students’ experiences of achieving communication competency using Arabic in an undergraduate nursing curriculum, we used a combination of quantitative and qualitative analyses. The results of our study indicated that students reported deep learning, self-perceived gains, effective educational practices, and collaborative learning. Incorporating essential practices and necessary communication skills in Arabic is a complex approach that enhances effectiveness and results in successful interactions.
