EVALUATION OF USING QUERCETIN IN PATIENTS WITH GOUT AND HYPERTENSION

Gout is a common inflammatory diseases, that is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease and we must looking for a new, safe method of correcting the level of uric acid (UA). Quercetin in the recent studies showed a positive result in patients with hyperuricemia. Patients with gout and hypertension received quercetin: 2 grams 3 times per day during 6 weeks, and after that with - 2 grams per night, for a further 12 weeks. Quercetin significantly reduces the level of the UA level and can reduce systolic BP to 6.3% and diastolic - to 11.5% without adding or increasing the dose of antihypertensive drugs. Quercetin showed positive trend in the treatment of gout, irrespective of the form.
