Application of adenovirus vector in cancer gene therapyand vaccination

Abstract

Adenovirus vector is one of the most widely used viral vectors for gene therapy. Comparedwith other viral vectors, adenovirus has various advantages such as high transduction effi ciency, broad tropismfor diff erent tissues and epichromosomal persistence in the host cell, etc. Adenovirus vectors can be modifi ed asreplication-deficient and replication-selective oncolytic virus vector. The strong immunogenicity of adenovirusvector makes it suitable to be applied in genetic vaccines and anti-cancer therapies. At present, many clinical trialshave confirmed the safety and effectiveness of adenovirus vector in the above-mentioned therapeutic attempts.
