Abstract

Read online

Displaying recent active occupation of public space by society, from the Arab Spring to the Hong Kong's Revolution umbrellas in Hong Kong, through movements like Occupy Wall Street or 15-M, it seems necessary reading again text entitled Henri Lefebvre's Le Droit Ville (The Right to the City) published in 1968 in which he argues, against abstraction, that space must be understood as the product of the social structure. This text will be introduced first in Britain and later in the United States by the architect Bernard Tschumi as an argument for the theory of Event Space and Action where architecture will define a new space in constant transformation, becoming an Environmental Trigger .
