”America is back”, said Joe Biden at the Munich Security Conference. This is a conclusion of a process beginning with the electoral campaign and elections in the US. But as optimistic as it could look like, the perspective of the US and the international relations still lies on the evolutions inside the American society: societal cohesion, coping with the rifts and dealing with the attacks involving foreign actors – cyber attacks, involvement in the electoral process, promoting violence via radicalisation and social media. The American elections viewed, for the first time, a clash between the founding myths of America. The draft plan for the future of the world seems bright, with a real multilateralism, engaging all democracies and defending our way of living. But the endeavour seems also challenging, since the retreat of Trump’s America left holes where the autocracies challenged the liberal world and try to change the rules-based world.
