REFLECTIONS ON THE FIRST DECADE OF THE AFRICAN UNION: THE TRANSFORMATION OPERATIONS IN BURUNDI, SUDAN AND SOMALIA

Abstract

The article seeks to understand the role of the African Union (AU) in securitary field in its first decade of existence (2002-2012) and defend the hypothesis that, even with changes in the structure of the organization in question, done that guarantees more dynamic conflict resolution, in fact its capacity to act is affected by the lack of skilled labor and keeps dependent on resources from external partners on the continent.
