Il Pci di Enrico Berlinguer e le elezioni europee attraverso la lettura della stampa comunista (1979-1984)

Abstract

The relationship between the Italian Communist Party and the European integration is a troubled long lasting process characterized by drastic changes of the Party position. This essay focuses on the European elections of 1979 and 1984, since Enrico Berlinguer’s leadership and its commitment to the European Parliament led to the complete and ardent PCI’s adhesion to the forces of the Europeanism. This historical study has been conducted through the analysis of the Party’s periodical press, focusing on two headings, the weekly «Rinascita» and the bimonthly «Critica Marxista».
