After applying qualitative and quantitative methodologies, the present work analyzes some of the ecological inequality conditions in which secondary students of a rural school and their families live in as a consequence of pesticide exposure in Argentina. A survey and social cartography were the methodologies used. The survey showed that the students had a high pesticide exposure. For example, a high proportion had used backpack and field sprayers. Social cartography confirmed the pesticide exposure of the students and their families. Following the survey and cartography, a seminar was held with the student to increase their awareness of the health risks associated to pesticide exposure. The final discussion is centered on thinking the social experience of risk in a context of ecological inequality. The participative nature of the research led to student experiencing a change in their perception of pesticide use, generating actions for social change.
