Abstract: Despite the growing interest in digital humanities, the use of digital poetry in French language Education in Nigeria is still under explored. This is the reason this research is aimed at investigating the benefits of using digital poems in enhancing the learning of French language among Nigerian students; by analysing the impact of digital poetry on French language acquisition. Two digital poems of Jacques Prévert shall be analysed to identify their linguistic pedagogical and multiple media features that could be used to enhance the learning of French language. The research adopts a qualitative method and content analysis. It relies on multimodal learning as a theoretical focus, which lay emphasis on the benefits of incorporating multiple modes of communication in learning process, particularly in the context of new media in today’s society. Thus, this research seeks to contribute to the development of more effective and engaging French language learning strategies. It recommends the integration of digital poems into the curriculum of French programmes, the encouragement of local poets and writers’ collaboration and the use of multimedia resources with active engagement. Keywords: Digital poetry, multimodality, French language learning
