Abstract
Synthesis and polymerization performance of a kind of dilithium initiator soluble in non-polar solvent Abstract: A novel dilithium initiator soluble in non-polar solvent cyclopentane was prepared by the reaction of sec-butyl lithium and 2,6-dimethylpyridine in cyclopentane for 1 h, and compared with the traditional monolithium initiators, when the dilithium initiator was used for solution polymerization of styrene and butadiene, its dose was just half of that of the monolithium initiator; the measured number-average relative molecular weight (M(——)n) of styrene-butadiene rubber prepared by the dilithium initiator was in general agreement with the designed M(——)n and the gel permeation chromatography curve of the resulting product contained a relatively narrow and symmetrical single peak, which indicated that the dilithium initiator had high initiating activity.
