Investigating the Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Organizational Innovation among the administrators of the Private Sector and Governmental Organizations of Tehran

The complex and modern organizations must be organized on the basis of new thoughts and they must have exploratory and innovative characteristic in order to continue their existence and their qualitative and quantitative growth and development and to emphasize modern methods. The goal of this research is to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational innovation among the administrators of governmental organizations and the administrators of private sector of Tehran. The statistical population of the research includes the administrators of the governmental organizations of Tehran, the managers of private banks, and those of commercial firms. About One hundred persons of each group attended as the research sample, who had been selected by cluster sampling method. The questionnaire of emotional intelligence (bar-on) and organizational innovation was applied to collect data. Descriptive and deductive statistics was used in order to analyze the data. The results are indicative of the existence of relationship between the subscales of daring, taking responsibility, resolving problems, flexibility, tolerating stress, taking independence, controlling shocks, self-actualization, inter-personal relationships, empathy, and the organizational innovation. But the existence of meaningful relationship in the subscales of realism and optimism, and the organizational innovation hasn’t been reported.
