In the article there are considered changes which happen in the sphere of the Spanish political and media discourse under the influence of crisis economic events of 2008–2017. On the basis of publications of Internet versions of the most famous Spanish periodicals El País and El Mundo concerning social and economic problems of Spain for the last decade the analysis of the political lexicon used in them is carried out. As the subject of the analysis the author chose articles typical for a political discourse, but at the same time having bright lexical tone. The author pays attention to that fact that political language has important differences from the regular speech, being characterized by special termhood, peculiar speech acceptances or its written registration. In work the manipulations of a political discourse realized at various system levels of language are systematized. Based on the practical examples given in article the conclusion is drawn that the social and economic problems which are relevant in modern Spanish political reality are projected on a media discourse, leading to lexical changes in the speech that is reflection of cognitive transformations. The author draws a conclusion that taking into account the remaining crisis phenomena in national economy it is necessary to expect also further changes in the Spanish political lexicon on the basis of the taking place events in life of Spain that can lead also to language transformations in national culture of language in general. The results of the conducted research provided in article have practical value from the point of view of a possibility of their further application as bases for identification of language and extralinguistic features of the public political speech in Spain both concerning crisis economic events, and on more wide range of subjects.
