Développement et mise en œuvre d’un Système d’Information Géographique pour l’étude de l’expansion pavillonnaire dans l’agglomération lyonnaise depuis 1950
Abstract
The study of urbanization of the built up area on in Lyon, parceled out into plots of land, is based on the identification and counting of a large number of files and heterogeneous sources. One of the challenges in developing a new tool for analysis of the urban phenomenon consists in the integration of these data into a coherent system, thanks to a Geographical Information System. This new tool allows, in particular, to trace the suburban sprawl of residential and private housing estates since 1950 in all its forms: this phenomenon is relatively little studied, but nevertheless has a large impact on the development of Lyon’s conurbation.
