Two examples taken from Arabic and Persian sources on the history of the conquest of Central Asia in the 710’s and 720’s are here adduced to show that they match perfectly with the local sources, either Chinese texts or Sogdian documentary sources. Central Asia for the first half of the 8th c. is well known from a variety of sources, and arabo-persian sources fit very well within this historiographical context.
