Abstract
Este artigo discute especialmente a recepção da obra do jornalista e teórico marxista peruano José Carlos Mariátegui no Brasil, sua influência no meio acadêmico e político, e as diferentes leituras e abordagens de suas ideias no país, do final dos anos 1920 até a atualidade, assim como também mostra as tentativas de aproximação de JCM com artistas e intelectuais brasileiros.This article discusses primarily the reception of the work of the Peruvian journalist and Marxist theoretician José Carlos Mariátegui in Brazil, his influence in the academic and political milieu, and the different readings and approaches to his ideas in this country, from the late 1920's to the present day; it shows, as well, JCM's efforts to establish links and relations with Brazilian artists and intellectuals.
