The diagnostic-formative assessment is a technique to follow the reading competence development of Italian language learners. In this paper, we try to demonstrate how the reading competence of each student was assessed individually through the in continuous monitoring. The reading and text comprehension activity was conducted through the use of the Blog ; therefore, the assessment mode was online, and we used a checklist adapted from Nunan’s (1989) studies to follow the reading competence progress of the students.
