Status of Packet Enhanced Optical Transport Network Technology and Its Application in Metropolitan Area Network

Abstract

The development of packet enhanced optical transport network（POTN／PE-OTN）technology was put forward to meet the rapid growth of bandwidth demanding and multi-service providing. The features and development status of POTN／PE-OTN technology were introduced. The main application scenarios of POTN／PE-OTN technology in the MAN were analyzed. And the possible technical solutions were also explored.
