The Role Of Tourist Expansion Areas In Attracting Investmentin The State Of Jijel

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to highlight the tourism significance of the Jijel State, which boasts immense and diverse tourism potential. In order to develop the tourism sector there, 19 sites were selected and classified as areas for tourism expansion. The primary objective of creating these areas was to provide real estate opportunities for receiving tourism investment projects, as it is a central process in tourism development. After more than 35 years since the establishment of these spaces, tourism activity in this state has not reached the desired level, which raises the question of how these areas have been utilized and what role they play in attracting tourism investment. Therefore, the goal of this study is to determine how these areas have been utilized and to evaluate the role they play in attracting tourism investment in Jijel State.In order to achieve this goal, we adopted the descriptive analytical approach as it allows for the description of the studied phenomenon and then the analysis of the related data. The Excel program was used for statistical data processing and ArcGIS for mapping. After the study, it became clear that the areas of tourism expansion in Jijel State have not been optimally utilized, and despite their partial exploitation, they have played an important role in attracting tourism projects.
