This scientific communication represents the record of Pontella marplatensis (Ramirez – 1966), in the station near Cabo Frio Island (Arraial do Cabo RJ – Brazil). This species of marine copepod ocurred in the zooplankton sample on September 15, 2010, obtained through horizontal drag with mesh net of 100 µm and 40 cm in diameter.
