The Fabrication of Porous ZnO Nanorods through Two-Step Aqueous Synthesis, and Their Properties
Abstract
In this study, ZnO nanorods with a porous structure were successfully prepared using the chemical bath deposition (CBD) method. According to the surface and cross-sectional images photographed by scanning electron microscopy, we found that the diameters of samples with concentrations of 10, 30, 50, and 70 mM were 90, 141, 214, and 259 nm, respectively, with 6 h of deposition. The height of the nanorods was maintained at approximately 1.3 μm. The EDS material analysis showed that the ratio of zinc atoms and oxygen atoms in samples with different concentrations changed with the concentration of the growth solution. The column diameter of the zinc oxide nanorods prepared by the chemical bath deposition method was closely related to the concentration of the growth solution. The higher the concentration, the larger the column diameter. The height of the nanorods was directly proportional to the deposition time and was not influenced by solution concentration.
