Le travail des femmes dans le secteur hôtelier : un regard sur la Sardaigne
Abstract
What kind of jobs do women in hotels ? Does female segregation exist in tourism labour market ? Does tourism play a role in changing the common labour division in which lower levels and occupations with few career opportunities are dominated by women and key managerial positions are dominated by men ? Or does it reinforce such division ? The aim of this paper is to reply to some of these questions taking into consideration the case of Sardinia, an Italian region in which tourism is not only a mature industry, but also one of the most important economic sources of income.
