The various developments that took place in the twentieth century extended their part to the field of literature in an extraordinary way. In the early times, all the limitations of literature were overcome by the use of knowledge and technology. Short stories helped to eliminate differences such as superiority, inferiority, male-female ideology, gender bias and inequality. Conventional concepts were rejected and new ideas began to emerge. Conservatism spoke and demanded a complete change in the social structure that enslaved women in Tamil society. It can be seen in the short stories of many Tamil Short story writers. In this way, Suryakanthan has recorded various problems and solutions faced by women in his short stories. Hence, the purpose of this review article is to examine them realistically as portrayed in the stories.
