Abstract

Let’s Talk About Money (Non-Russian Currency Unit Names in the “Kuranty” Papers of the 17th Century): The paper analyses monetary unit names, incorporated into Russian language in the first seven decades of the 17th century. The research aims at evaluating the level of assimilation of the foreign units in the borrowing language. The research material was extracted from “Vesti-Kuranty”, written from 1600 to 1670.
