The purpose of this paper is to analyze the public debate on the greenhouse effect during the years 1989-1990, through specialized and political discourses. The aim is to illustrate, by observing and counting the elements of the vocabulary used, the political positions and scientific implications displayed by the various partners. This study of the specialized and argued scientific language and the underlying political options therefore attempts to reveal the choices of vocabulary and discursive strategies implemented by each subject-transmitter. Through a systematic comparison, the analysis makes it possible to determine the preoccupations and therefore the centers of interest that characterize each type of discourse engaged in the polemic.
